Whatto! Students..............
As an Honorary Doctorate of Cambridge University..........I like to visit from time to time to catch up with the staff there and also meet up with some of the future leaders of Business and Politics...............
There are so many beautiful buildings to see there...........
But occasionally I like to 'sit in' on one of the lectures being given by one of the professors too......
Professor Stephen Hawkins the British Cosmologist, in particular, is facinating to listen to.......
But I decided to sit in on a Biology lecture.............
.............where the Professor was discussing the high glucose levels to be found in semen..............
A Student raised her hand and asked, "If I understand you correctly Professor, you're saying there is as much glucose in semen as in sugar?"..............
The Professor responded immediately "That is correct!" going on to add statistical information to his explanation....................
Raising her hand again, the girl asked, "Then why doesn't it taste sweet?"
There a very brief stunned silence, then the whole class burst out laughing................
The poor girl's face turned bright red, as she realized exactly what she had inadvertently said (or rather implied)......................
I watched as she picked up her books without a word and was about to walk out of class..............
............When the Professor - totally straight-faced - replied.........
......."It doesn't taste sweet because the taste buds for sweetness are on the tip your tongue and not the back of your throat"
