Lively Library

Whatto! Everyone...............

Despite the internet being considered the primary source of all information these days - I still find myself heading down to our local library from time to time to check out the old books that have arrived there........

I was surprised when I called in the other day to return some novels I'd borrowed and found there was some sort of reading session taking place with a female reading to a small group of young children who were sat on the floor in front of her..............

I didn't want to intrude so just watched for a few moments as the lady read the story of 'Chicken little' to them all. It was a real pleasure watching the excited facination in their faces as she read aloud to them all in a way that clearly had them all captivated..............

She came to the part of the story where Chicken Little tries to warn the farmer..........

She read, '.... and so Chicken Little went up to the farmer and said,'The sky is falling! The sky is falling!'...........

She paused momentarily then asked the children, 'And what do you think the farmer said?'............

One little girl raised her hand - waving it earnestly and she was visably thrilled when she was selected to give her considered opinion by the lady reading to them all...........

"Yes Amanda" said the lady - pointing to the child................

The little girl said, 'Miss I think he said: "Holy Shit! A talking chicken!'' '

............The lady was unable to read for several minutes and it certainly made my day too!

Tallyho!

Best wishes - Lord Noel
