What ho! Pepys...
Lord Noel here again....
I was walking around in the warm sunshine yesterday...
....and I saw a number of things that made me realise something...
...like the recently cut cornfields after the harvest....
...wild blackberries brambles already covered with ripened fruit...
...the smoky blue glow of fully grown sloes..
...waiting for the first frost...
...to bring their true flavour out.....
...tumbling bunches of tiny black elderberries...
...dangling heavily from healthy pink stalks...
....Summer leaves showing tell tale tinges of brown....
...all reassuring signs...
...that whatever we mere mortals may think or do....
...the wheel of the year keeps on turning.
