Lord Noel Says "Look at ME!"....please

Whatto! Facebook users...
...Lord Noel here....

'Narcissus' by Pat Brennan

Researcher Soraya Mehizadeh from York University in Canada
has completed an experiment using Facebook users....
....she asked 100 students, 50 male and 50 female, aged between 18-25 about their Facebook habits.
Those who scored higher on a 'Narcissism Test' ....

The beautiful narcissus looks down to admire it's reflection in the water

....were found to have checked out their Facebook pages more often than those who didn't. GASP!
The students all took part in Psychology tests to measure their levels of Narcissism
which the study defined as
'a pervasive pattern of grandiosity, need for admiration
and an exaggerated sense of self-importance'.

And the problem is?!

Well.....Men generally promoted themselves using written posts whilst women tended to carefully select images for their profile. The findings also suggested that those with low self esteem also checked their Facebook pages more regularly than other 'normal' users.

Echo despairs as Narcissus waits for Facebook to be invented

"This may not be entirely surprising as because narcissism is linked closely to a lack of self-esteem"....
Miss Mehdizadeh (the Bitch) admitted "not everyone will appreciate these findings as people get very defensive about their self image.....

....But Facebook provides and ideal setting for narcissists to monitor their appearance and how many 'friends' they have. It also allows them to thrive on 'shallow' relationships whilst avoiding genuine warmth and empathy".

Facebook has more than 500,000,000 users worldwide making it the world's biggest social networking site, but it has already been involved in a number of controversies.

A study earlier this week showed that the grades of students using Facebook whilst studying (even if it is only on the background) were 20% lower on average than non-users.

Tallyho!

Best Wishes
(especially to all my friends on Facebook)
