Aren't Public Houses a wonderful place to meet all and sundry?.........
One certainly gets a wider view on life! What?!..............
I was inside our local hostelry yesterday evening and got speaking to a lady whose husband is currently 'At Her Majesty's Pleasure' apparently awaiting trial..................
She says that "He's 'inside' for something he didn't do!".................
I wondered if that 'something he didnt do' - was wear gloves! Har!!
Anyway while he was there she apparently wrote to him for some advice on gardening................asking him "When shall I plant the spuds?"
She says that he wrote back saying "Dont dig up our garden - thats where I buried all the money!"
Well! You can imagine!........The next day Police are all over her garden..............
.........meticulously digging up every square inch...............
obviously having intercepted his letter they thought they were onto a good thing!
...................alas! To no avail!..............
They left after several long hours empty handed!
So she said that she was so shocked she wrote straight back to him telling him all about what had happened.......................
Then she showed me the letter she got in reply from him..............
It simply says........... "NOW you can plant the spuds!"
Tallyho! Everyone!................
Best wishes - Lord Noel
